The upcoming weekend is shaping up to be quite good. Grand Final Friday climbs in the blue to 5,000 feet starting before 2 pm. The Saturday forcast is promising thermals to heights in excess of 8,000 feet. That will be the best for this season to date and I hope for a big gliding weekend. The Eurofox is back in action. Why not come out on Friday already (Grand Final holiday) and make it worthwhile for the tuggy.

Saturday was some better than predicted. I launched just before 1 pm and found a good climb after an initial struggle. The plan was to go to Pyramid Hill and Boort. Plan change when I arrived at P'Hill and continued on towards Kerang. There is still a lot of water on the ground there and I turned 20 km short and headed to Charlton. By that time some of the good climbs went to 8,500 ft but they were not easy to find. At Charlton I found one that got me almost to 9,000 ft QNH and the gadget said I had final glide home with a quartering tail wind. Lost that glide and topped up at Wedderburn to 10,000 ft AGL. That was enought to stretch the flight to south of Raywood before finally turning home. 3 hrs 50 min in the air for a 290 km flight.
